Killer Is Dead’s Trailer Is To Die For

Suda51 and his Grasshopper Manufacture have never failed to come up with something just crazy enough to have the Internet buzzing. From the looks of it, they’ve struck gold again. I’ve enjoyed Grasshopper’s previous works to varying degrees, but this trailer had me absolutely ecstatic. I see traces of Killer 7, No More Heroes, and Lollipop Chainsaw all wrapped together into a bloody fun mess. In case you missed it, I’ve attached the trailer below.

I’ve always been a fan of cel shading. Pop in Wind Waker or Okami and those gems still remain great-looking. Likewise, Killer Is Dead seems to have a fantastic and distinct art direction that makes every kill look beautiful. It’s as if the bloody world of Madworld was splashed together with the bright colors of Lollipop Chainsaw.

Speaking of Madworld, Killer Is Dead also seems to have some of Bayonetta’s trademark over-the-top style. Sure the guns are on the arms instead of the feet, but similar idea, yeah? Regardless, both Grasshopper and Platinum continuously demonstrate that they’re the kings of style in the world of gaming, and Killer Is Dead looks to proudly continue the trend.

Find me on Steam, XBL, PSN as havoklegend. I'd give you my Wii friend code too, but nobody remembers those.
